2 Years on the Road: Our Honest Review of Living in a Keystone Cougar RV

In December 2021, we took the plunge and traded in our stationary life for a Keystone Cougar RV, hitting the road to explore the country full-time. Two years later, we've racked up countless miles and memories, and we're here to share our honest review of our experience living in this popular RV model.

Spacious Comfort with a Few Hiccups

First and foremost, the Keystone Cougar's spacious interior was a game-changer compared to our previous RV. We loved the extra breathing room and ample storage, making it comfortable to live and work on the road. The built-in fireplace was also a cozy touch, especially during chilly winter nights.

However, our journey wasn't entirely smooth sailing. We encountered some unexpected bumps, most notably with the windows. The first window spontaneously exploded twice, and its replacement met the same fate once. Fortunately, we identified faulty installation as the culprit, and after proper reinstallation, the window woes subsided.

Minor Fixes and Workmanship Quirks

While the window saga was undoubtedly the most dramatic, we also faced a few other minor repair needs. These included replacing the water pump and the Sal switch, both relatively quick fixes. Additionally, we noticed some minor cosmetic imperfections, like the corner molding pulling away, hinting at slightly rough workmanship.

Overall: Keystone Cougar - A Home on Wheels with Ups and Downs

Despite these hiccups, our Keystone Cougar has served us well as our home on wheels for the past two years. We appreciate the spacious comfort, the plethora of storage, and the overall coziness it provides. While the window incident and minor repairs were inconvenient, they haven't dampened our overall positive experience.

Would We Recommend the Keystone Cougar?

If you're considering an RV adventure and the Keystone Cougar catches your eye, we'd say go for it! Just be prepared for the possibility of minor hiccups along the way. With proper research, maintenance, and a little DIY spirit, the Keystone Cougar can be a comfortable and fulfilling home on the road.

Beyond the Review: Our RV Journey Highlights

Our Keystone Cougar has been more than just a vehicle; it's been the vessel for countless unforgettable experiences. From the breathtaking vistas of the Smoky Mountains to the sun-drenched beaches of the California coast, our RV has carried us to some of the most incredible places imaginable.
